Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (STCW95) (PSSR) ~ 1 day ~ AED 950

The is the basic induction course for working on STCW’95 vessels. Covers safety, legal and statutory requirements of both the employer and the employee. Outlines the basic “way of life” for safe employment & living at sea.

Short Range Radio (GMDSS) VHF Course (SRC) ~ 1 day ~ AED 950

The old vhf radio course has been updated & now includes GMDSS, Digital Selective Calling (DSC). How to initiate a digital alert to other vessels and the coastguard. Practical sessions on our simulators and “role playing” emergency exercises. Useful advice when using the radio at sea for routine calling or in the unlikely event of casualty working.


National Powerboat Certificate ~ Coastal (PB2) ~ 2 days ~

Own Boat Tuition AED 2400 per person (based on 3 persons)

Covers the basic handling skills and background knowledge to safely take a powerboat to sea in daylight, reasonable weather and tidal conditions. Theory includes equipment and some navigation. The foundation for the powerboat scheme, can lead to an International Certificate of Competence. Considered essential when taking a boat and other people to sea safely with confidence.

Intermediate Powerboat ~ Coastal (PB3) ~ 2 days ~ Own Boat Tuition AED 2500 (based on 3 persons)

Providing the skills for taking a boat on day time coastal passages. Includes route planning, practical navigation exercises, heavy weather preparation, advanced marina manoeuvring, MOB searches, GPS, high speed navigation techniques, emergency situations, tide calculations & rule of the road. Prerequisites: Powerboat level 2, Navigation knowledge to Basic Navigation & Safety Certificate or equivalent.

Advanced Powerboat ~ Coastal (PBA) ~ 2 days & 1 night ~ Own Boat Tuition AED 2700 (based on 3 persons)

For professional boat skippers and serious leisure sportsboat users. Includes: passage planning, practical day and night exercises, heavy weather, advanced manoeuvring, MOB, sector searches, GPS, high speed navigation techniques, emergencies and tides & rule of the road. Prerequisites: Powerboat level 2, Navigation knowledge to Day Skipper navigation or equivalent.

RYA Powerboat Instructor ~ Coastal (PBI) ~ 3 days ~ AED 5,500

Required to teach at RYA Training Centre’s. Starting with a briefing & planning day followed by advice & assessment during a two day PB2 course. This course gives you the opportunity to develop your teaching and consider coaching skills. Whilst this is a professional qualification, it is also aimed at those wishing to earn in a sport they love. Prerequisites: PB2, five seasons (equivalent) experience plus current First Aid


Basic Navigation & Safety – Shorebased ~ 2 days ~ AED 2,000 ~

This is the new two-day RYA Basic Navigation and Safety course.

The course is aimed at a wide audience, including anyone new to sailing, motor boating, sea angling and diving as well as experienced dinghy and keelboat sailors and inshore racers.

Mindful of the fact that people are increasingly short of time for leisure pursuits the RYA have taken a new approach, aiming to give students a knowledge of navigation techniques and sea safety awareness over 2 days.

Course topics include: charts and publications, safety, engine checks, buoyage, tidal awareness, visual and electronic navigation, pilotage, rules of the road, anchoring, weather forecasts and passage planning.

This course is the perfect stepping stone to the more in-depth Day Skipper shorebased course, or to courses on the water such as the Intermediate Powerboat, Start Yachting, Helmsman or Day Skipper courses. The course includes a free chart plotting aid to start you off!

Day Skipper – Shorebased (DST) ~ (5 days) ~ AED 4,500

This course provides you with a firm foundation of navigational and meteorological knowledge. Prepares for day-to-day sailors and powerboaters. Includes electronic navigation & GPS. Admiralty charts & publications, planning a safe passage in unknown ports. Tide calculations, rule of the road, emergency procedures & the role of a Skipper. Learn the necessary skills to manage a boat in safety. There are two short theory examinations before the certificate is issued.

Day Skipper Motor – Practical (DSM) ~ (4 days) ~ AED 7,500 per person, min 3 persons

This course puts in to practice the knowledge gained on the theory course for day-to-day coast hopping type cruising. Marina berthing, general boat handling, man overboard and safety drills. Practical use of electronic navigation & GPS. Admiralty charts & publications, making a safe passage in unknown ports. Practice the necessary skills to manage a boat & crew in safety as a qualified Skipper.

Yachtmaster & Coastal Theory (YMT) ~ (6 days) AED 5,500

Advanced navigation theory, safety and seamanship building on skills learnt at Day Skipper and taking them on to a higher level. We look at dealing with emergencies aboard. Work out tides & currents. Discover the secrets of weather forecasting, night navigation, anti-collision work and much more. Learn the skills to safely navigate at night and enjoy the experience. This is a more advanced course and involves mathematical calculations to a higher level than Day Skipper. There are three short theory examinations before the certificate is issued.

Yachtmaster Practical Preparation and Exam – Motor (4 + 2 days) AED 15,000 min 3 people or AED 18,000 with candidate providing suitable vessel

Precision marina manoeuvring, voyage planning and execution leading to this prestigious Examination which can be booked upon completion of the preparation here in UAE.

Prerequisites: Excellent boat handling skills, Yachtmaster Theory, First Aid, Radio – call for more details.

Personal boat handling on your boat covering the subjects you want. We can deliver a standard course this way should you wish. This can be just for yourself, your family or friends. For best personal tuition its best delivered at a ratio of up to 3:1
